Miłosława Borzyszkowska-Szewczyk – professor of Gdańsk University, Germanist and literary scholar with an anthropological bias, assistant professor in the Institute of German Philology at Gdańsk University, head of the Research Laboratory for Memory Narratives of the Borderland, chair of the Günther Grass Society.
She studied German Philology (and Cultural Studies) at the Jagiellonian University, Lepizig University and Gdańsk University. She studied for her PhD at Gdańsk University and Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Ost-West-Promotionskolleg, Programme Migrationen: Menschen und Ideen unterwegs im Europa der Moderne). In 2008 she defended her doctoral dissertation entitled Etos pruski i kultura pamięci: Literatura wspomnieniowa szlachty pruskiej z Pomorza Zachodniego i Prus Wschodnich po 1945 r. [The Prussian Ethos and Culture of Remembrance: The Literature of Memory of the Prussian Nobility of Western Pomerania and Eastern Prussia after 1945] (published as Pamięć dla przyszłości: Literatura wspomnieniowa szlachty pruskiej z Pomorza Zachodniego i Prus Wschodnich po 1945 r. [Memory for the Future: The Literature of Memory of the Prussian Nobility of Western Pomerania and Eastern Prussia after 1945], Wrocław 2009, in the series Understanding Germany, edited by Edward Białek and Leszek Żyliński). The title of her habilitation dissertation, published in Gdańsk in 2019, is Jüdische Gedächtnistopographien im Grenzraum. Autobiographik nach 1945 von Autoren jüdischer Herkunft aus dem Pommernland (Pommerellen und Hinterpommern).

- autobiographies of the German nobility of Western Pomerania and Eastern Prussia
- autobiographies of authors of Jewish ancestry relating to the Polish-German cultural borderlands, especially Pomerania and Gdańsk
- Gdańsk and Pomeranian identity (including post memory): literary texts as a medium and representation of memory
