Agnieszka Bednarek-Bohdziewicz, PhD in Humanities, literary scholar, cultural anthropologist. She is employed by the Anthropological Institute of Gdańsk University. She also works with Gdańsk University’s Pomeranian Center for Cultural Research. She is a member of the Kashubian Institute, vice-president of the Pomeranian Philosophical and Theological Society (since 2021).
She is the author of the book Homo capax, capax hominis: Z problematyki antropologicznej w późnej twórczości Adama Mickiewicza [Homo Capax, Capax Hominis. Anthropological Issues in the Late Work of Adam Mickiewicz] (series: Dissertationes Laudatissimae Universitas Gedanensis, Gdańsk 2019; Award of the Gdańsk branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences for young scholars, for the best academic work in the field of humanities and social studies). She has published in Konteksty, Slavia Meridionalis, Ruch Literacki, among others, and in collective publications. She also works as an editor with scholarly journals Karto-Teka Gdańska and Etnografia: Praktyki, Teorie, Doświadczenia.
Her research interests include Kashubian ethnology, the anthropology of religion and post secular trends, the anthropology of locomotion, strategies in shaping cultural identity, links between anthropology and literature.
